Seunghwan Cho
EVP | Samsung Electronics
Executive Vice President Seunghwan Cho is the Deputy Head of Samsung Research, the advanced research & development hub of Samsung’s SET Business. With the goal to ‘Shape the Future with Innovation and 1ntelligence’, he focuses on strengthening the technological capabilities in the areas of artificial intelligence, Big Data, internet of things (IoT), integrated security solutions, Tizen platforms and smart machines, in collaboration with 22 R&D centers in 15 countries. He is in charge of the overall research and development by leading the research to identify new future growth areas, building a top-tier global software development system, and securing product innovation and future technology.

Seungbeom Choi

Senior Vice President Seungbeom Choi is currently the leader of R&D Strategy Team at Samsung Research. He plays a pivotal role in leading the innovation to transform Samsung Electronics into a Technologies Driven Company. Since 2017, he has been continuously developing and expanding key research areas such as artificial intelligence, internet of things (IoT), cloud, and integrated security solutions. He is also in charge of the open source policies and strategies of the company. As a leader of R&D Strategy Team, he focuses on developing new technological themes to lead the creation of new businesses, and coordinates strategies to ensure technological leadership based on continuous technological innovation.

Jim Zemlin
Executive Director | The Linux Foundation
Today, as executive director of The Linux Foundation, Jim uses his experience to accelerate innovation in technology through the use of open source and Linux. At The Linux Foundation, He works with the world’s largest technology companies. His work at the vendor-neutral Linux Foundation gives him a unique and aggregate perspective on the global technology industry. He has been recognized for his insights on the changing economics of the technology industry. His writing has appeared in Businessweek, Wired, and other top technology journals, and he is a regular keynote speaker at industry events. He also sits on the boards of the Global Economic Symposium, Open Source For America, and Chinese Open Source Promotion Union.

Fadi Zuhayri
Director l Intel
Fadi Zuhayri is the general manager and director of strategy and marketing for Big Data Analytics Open Source Software Technologies at Intel Software & Services Group. He is responsible for setting the strategies, developing industry messaging, and aligning across Intel business units, the open source community, technology partners & customers to evangelize and drive wide adoption of Intel’s data analytics & AI technologies. Fadi has broad knowledge of the computing & software industry, spanning many technologies across all market segments, which he developed during his career at Intel Corporation through various roles and leadership positions in engineering, research & development, product management, and marketing. He joined Intel in 1989 and he holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology.

Jae-seok Ahn
PhD | SK Telecom
Dr. Ahn Jae-seok, the leader of the Virtualization SW Lab of SK Telecom, is in charge of developing cloud infrastructure platforms based on open source SW technologies such as OpenStack and Kubernetes, leading the evolution of cloud infrastructure, including the 5G VIM in the SK Group. Ahn was involved in the OpenStack project from the beginning, and established and led OpenStack communities in Korea, and recently, officially launched OpenStack-Helm and Airship projects jointly with AT&T. He received a Ph.D. in software engineering from the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), and after returning to Korea, led an open source cloud development team in KT. He is currently an official ambassador of the OpenStack Global community and coordinator of OpenStack and Kubernetes communities in Korea.

Richard Barry
Principal Engineer | AWS
Richard Barry is a founder of FreeRTOS and principal engineer in Amazon Web Services. He started the FreeRTOS project in 2003, developed and promoted FreeRTOS for more than a decade through his Real Time Engineers Ltd. FreeRTOS is the cross platform standard solution for microcontrollers, which is ported to 27 microcontroller cores, 17 tool chains, and is downloaded more than 80,000 times a year - making it the leading kernel in its class - a claim that is backed up by the results of the 2011 EETimes embedded market survey.

Steven Kim is an engineering manager at Google based in New York City, focused on build and delivery systems. Prior to Google, Steven ran engineering teams at DreamWorks Animation, and was a part of the technical leadership in new initiatives at the studio.

Sauroo Park

Sauroo Park is a 7th grade student in Seoul, who has started making Android apps when she was 10 years old. She got an excellence award in the 2017 Samsung Junior Software Cup, and is the App of the Month winner in 2018, awarded by the MIT App Inventor group. She is interested not only in software developments but in arts and sciences, and hopes to become a developer changing the world.

Joan Sandoval
Creative Coder | Hand Coded
Joan Sandoval is interested in exploring the boundaries between technology, design and arts. He has been collaborating with different studios, imagining, creating and delivering unique projects to artists, festivals and brands such as SEAT, Sephora or Lumiere London festival. He usually works with open source software and hardware on his projects, which span many disciplines including physical interfaces, live coding performances, sound, video and light installations. He currently works as a creative coder at Hand Coded, a leading studio in immersive and interactive experiences, among others, based in Barcelona. He also has been involved in the recent creation of Ínfim Collective, a group of coders that delivers unique experiences to the public.
